We had a great trip! I especially loved Ireland. We hiked the Gap of Dunloe into the Kerry Way in Killarney. It was absolutely stunning. It would be great to do the whole Kerry Way some day. We drove the Dingle, and did a bike trip in the Aran islands. These were highlights for sure. We were happy to stay in Kinsale over Cork and walked into Bastion in Kinsale (a Michelin star restaurant) and had a private meal with the chef before they opened. It was totally unplanned, we just walked in and they served us. Wow! Also there is a little deli called U foods that was amazing, and a pizza joint Bruno’s that was also so great. As you noted, there are so many restaurants in Kinsale. We also especially loved the White Lady Hotel: great staff, rooms and atmosphere.
I also enjoyed getting to know Paris and Italy better, having informative tours this go ’round. Eric really enjoyed getting to see the sights for the first time. We did grow a little tired of the big cities so we appreciated doing nothing in Sorrento. The Mediterraneano was lovely! We especially loved the Florencetown tour group, and the cooking class with Marco was a highlight of Italy. We also loved the Boboli Gardens, where we picnicked, and the Pitti Palace. It was so beautiful! Eric had never been in churches like they have in Italy, so that was an experience for him.
We also very much enjoyed the gardens at Versailles. The building was maybe the most crowded place we went so we were very glad to have done the bike tour. Thank you for this recommendation and our guide was terrific.
It was a great three-week trip, thank you so much for helping us with it. -Emily & Eric, September 2018
