Spain was awesome! Everything came together as planned and we had a great time. My favorites were the Marcet de la Boquerila, Gaudi’s Sagrada de Familia, and the beach, with the little “tiki huts” all along the edge where you could have a drink and snack in the shade right on the beach!
LaSarte is definitely a go to restaurant as well. The meal and experience were very much like a French Laundry and Inn at Little Washington experience, with beautiful creative fusion courses and impeccable service. A super elegant and avant garde setting as well. Dress collar shirt and jacket for men, dressed up for women.
San Sebastian was over the top, so glad we included it! Upscale, lively, clean, very European and beautiful, like a west coast Spanish-French Riviera. The view of the bay from our rooms could not have been better, and we were located very close to the old town where the pintxos bars and shops were. And we definitely indulged! We had no idea that so many Americans knew about San Sebastian and were there…..where has it been all my life?! We both plan to include a couple nights there in a trip with our wives, perhaps combined with Paris and Bordeaux.
Thank you, Julie, for making the arrangements so thoroughly and thoughtfully! Just wish the days had not gone by so fast! And I cannot say enough about the business class flights, I felt like a Prince the whole time and very safe wherever we were. –Will & Rick, Spain, July 2016
