Costa Rica Perfection

I think we both enjoyed Monteverde best. The cooler temps (70-80 instead of 90-100+) made hiking the mountain trails easier. They even made a birthday cake for me and came up with a ruse to distract us while they set it up in our room! On our hikes of the cloud forest we saw Quetzals in a group, 6-8 males trying to impress one female. Extraordinary!
 
Guides across the board were excellent. I think it is essential to use local guides. We would not have seen or been able to recognize most of the birds, etc. without their knowledge and experience.
 
It was a perfect trip. The four locations were different and provided different species and experiences.
