FINDING THE PERFECT CARRY-ON

The airlines don’t make it easy to choose a carry-on piece that will fit all your travel needs. Carry-on restrictions can be confusing, measurements vary from airline to airline, and clients often wonder – does that one-inch difference really matter?

At Peace Frogs Travel/Outfitters we try to carry an edited selection of carry-on pieces to fit a wide variety of needs and have the knowledge to help you figure out the right piece for you. If you travel internationally, there is generally a one-inch difference (in height) between the carry-on guidelines for an international versus domestic trip.

We’ve included a few tips below to help you further narrow down your ideal carry-on:

  • Domestic airlines flying internationally will follow domestic luggage restrictions, not international. That means that if you are flying a carrier like United or Delta you can use a domestic carry-on (aka larger-sized bag).
  • If you usually travel on the same airlines, consult their websites for carry-on restrictions and abide by the smallest restriction.
  • Is space more important to you than worrying about size limitations? Then we suggest you pack a little more in a domestic carry-on and take your chances that it might get checked. In many cases the luggage makes it on-board but just in case it doesn’t, make sure you have a smaller bag (personal item) to carry anything you absolutely need to access while on the flight.

Ultimately, we want you to find a carry-on that meets your needs for your upcoming adventure and that will also work in the future.  Our packing specialists are available to answer your questions and to help you narrow down which option is best for you.
