PORTUGAL WITH A PERSONAL TOUCH

It was an absolutely amazing trip!  We have never splurged on a private driver before, and that was one of the best investments in this trip.  Our driver in Lisbon, Miguel, also took us up to Palace Bussaco and up to Porto.  He was so professional and friendly, and gave us some good tips as well.  We’re so used to lugging our bags around that it was hard to let him do everything!!  Not having to worry about renting a car and figuring out directions was worth every cent.

All of the private tours were great.  Pedro, our guide for the Duoro Valley tour, was very knowledgeable and also very friendly.  He took us to this little restaurant that he knows in this tiny village, and the food and wine were amazing.  He also had great recommendations.  Catia, our Sintra guide, was also a great guide.  She definitely knows the area. 

The food was amazing, the wine was awesome, and every location was beautiful.  We actually liked Porto better than Lisbon – just a smaller city and it felt so authentic.  I think we’ll go back.  There is still lots of Porto to try!  And I discovered white port, which is amazing.
