FROM LONDON TO LIECHTENSTEIN

Michael spent three weeks over the holidays this year traveling with his wife and nine-year-old son on a whirlwind trip to Paris, Brussels, Luxembourg, London, Bath, Milan, Lucerne, and Liechtenstein. Here are some highlights of his trip and tips for fellow travelers:

Duquesne Eiffel [Paris] was a great hotel. The staff was really helpful. The location was perfect. We were a five-minute walk from Rue Cler which made a nice home base. The breakfast at the hotel was good. Rue Cler had plenty of good restaurants, coffee bars, bakeries, and a laundry mat! Fat Tire Tours was great for the Eiffel Tower. The Rodin museum is amazing; the Dali museum is not.

The train to Luxembourg was great. You can get off right in the middle of Luxembourg City and we had a great day exploring. Lots of shopping and food options in the main square.

The trip to Brussels worked out fine. The trains were on time. The Tin Tin museum was amazing for any clients of yours with kids who are fans of that book series. The museum also had an outstanding fine dining restaurant. The town Louvain La Neuve was actually really cute – a university town with lots to do.

The Channel train [to London] was great. Security was a lot more extensive than we thought it would be for the trains. The London hotel was great. The location was perfect and the staff was super helpful. They sweet talked the Brown Hotel into extending our reservation for High Tea when we were late getting over there. Jamie Oliver’s Italian restaurant was also near the hotel and was really great for kids. Clients of yours who like Indian food should check out the Drummond street neighborhood, near the Euston station. There is a wonderful selection of small restaurants.

[Bath] was perfect! The Abbey Hotel was amazing. They have a wonderful staff. All of the holiday meals and celebration events were really fun. There was a ton of restaurants and shops and great parks to choose from. Cannot recommend it enough.

Adi Doria Grand Hotel [Milan] was a nice hotel. The location to the train station was good. There was a nice pizzeria nearby.

Walderstaetterhof Swiss Quality Lucerne Hotel was awesome. The rooms were great, the staff was great, location was the same. The Hof restaurant in the hotel was fantastic, we ate there twice.

We took the day trip to Vaduz, Liechtenstein. We would have spent more time there. It was a great day spent walking around in the city. Great restaurants, coffee shops, a wonderful art museum.

Renting the car through Europcar was a no-brainer. It was easy to do and the drive was fine.

The trip literally went without a hitch. We had a trip of a lifetime, so thank you! – Michael, May 2016
