SCOTTEVEST TRAVEL JACKETS

I answer a lot of questions from travelers wondering how to securely carry their passports, money and belongings while travelling, especially abroad. There are different options depending on your preference and the degree of security you need. A concealed pouch or anti-theft backpack or purse are a great option (links below to more posts on security that include these options), but many people don’t think about using a travel jacket. In my opinion Scottevest makes some of the best travel jackets on the market with incredibly well thought out gear featuring a vast array of internal pockets which enable you to be hands-free while traveling and help guard against pickpockets. In this scenario, all or at least your most valuable items, are housed on the inside of a vest or a jacket. This includes your cellphone/ mp3 player, camera, water bottles, keys, eye glasses or sunglasses, passport/ documents and even an iPad! Scottevest even offers a $1000 pickpocket guarantee.

We carry the RFID Travel Vest, which is a great layering piece for travel and features 18 internal pockets for the women’s vest and 26 for the men’s, including a RFID-blocking pocket. Recently, we just received the Sterling Jacket that takes it one step further by allowing you the flexibility to zip off the arms to make your jacket turn into a vest. This is a great jacket that can be worn 3 seasons out of the year. Scottevest has incorporated what they call a ‘personal area network’ or PAN, which allows the user to be able to thread their headphones through various areas of the jacket depending on where they want to house their listening device, which leaves no cords hanging and makes it much easier to be hands-free while still listening to music.

If you would like to read up on past posts regarding security, I’ve listed a few of them below:
