ALASKA WONDER
Alaska gratis Peace Frogs Travel and Rochelle,
We all had a marvelous time together in Alaska even though we had at least some rain every single day. On the afternoon of the seaplane flight the weather was simply terrible with cold rain and fog to the point of our wondering if we would even fly. But that was the only bad news!
The Disney Wonder ship was just spectacular, with the piped in music, unbelievably, Ives and Copeland. There were always shows or movies for the grandkids and I found the grown-up coffee quiet rooms (all with spectacular views) where I read my books for hours and drank one cappuccino after another.
The ship’s cabins were beautifully and so cleverly laid out; smaller than Seabourn but perhaps even more adequately designed. There was a loo and a wash basin in one tiny room and the showertub with yet another basin next to it in a second tiny room. The sleeping quarters and the living/sitting area had a drawn curtain so that I could read early and late while Tulia slept the easy rest of the innocent teen!
The food was very good, and our waiter at night a perfect treasure. Not only was he always cheerful and splendid, but he could also perform dozens of magic tricks which stumped us all, and reduced the grands to helpless giggles.
Butchart Gardens in Victoria was magical and other-worldly. There was such a sheer abundance of beauty, both manicured and also left in spots to nature’s caprices, all breathtaking. What a trip making us all, individually and collectively, enriched and surfeited with the luxury of great love, and a host of memories which will serve as a feast for many years. -The Garbee and Raine families, Alaska and Vancouver/Victoria, July 2014
