“Where’s the next hot spot?” and “Where are people traveling now?” These are questions I hear frequently from my regular clients as they want to be in the know. From year to year I do see trends however every one of my clients is so different, and like myself, may desire a particular type of trip at a particular time. For instance, a week at the beach might be just what the doctor ordered, a relaxed time to reconnect with family and loved ones, but at other times, hiking the Inca Trail or diving in Belize might be of more interest.

Aside from the hot spots below, the most noticeable change I’ve seen in the last couple of years is the desire for more experiential travel. Whether it’s a custom tailored trip from start to finish or an activity or two during a vacation, it’s an experience that makes a holiday that much memorable. This could be anything from a private Renaissance walking tour of Florence for the history buff, an empanada cooking class in Buenos Aires for the foodie, a bird lover hiking through the Monteverde Cloud Forest with a naturalist guide or an early morning white table-clothed breakfast served outdoors overlooking the Okavango Delta.

So, where’s the best place to travel now? Wherever you want to go.
