EXCITEMENT

I’ve unlocked the front door at 1145 Emmet Street about 4,518 times over the past 16 ½ years. On the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, the Peace Frogs Travel crew popped open a couple bottles of bubbly after spending the entire day moving from Barracks Road Shopping Center to the Millmont Shops. We sat on the floor; sweaty, dirty and tired, then laughed about the days experiences and listened to Julie recollect her history, our history, of the last 20 or so years. I expected to feel nostalgic, I tried, but really, I wanted the weekend to be over and get started on the next 16 ½ years at our new Millmont Shops store.

Excitement [ik-sahyt-muhnt]: to stir to action; awaken. That’s what I was feeling while I sipped and toasted with my co-workers and friends. That’s what I am feeling. I knew very little about the travel industry when I first sat down at my desk in 1996. Now, I’m excited about what possibilities are ahead of me. Literally and figuratively, where will I go?
