LODGE TO LODGE IN COSTA RICA
March 17, 2014

We had a wonderful relaxing time. Our trip was beautiful and rainy off and on, but that didn’t stop us. The sun, when it shone through was intense (about 13 degrees from the equator and about 150 miles from Venezuela). The St Lucian people were beautiful with a soft dignified elegance about them. Our accommodations at Windjammer Landing were excellent, perched high on the mountain side. We enjoyed meeting lots of nice fellow travelers, too.

On Christmas Eve there was a very bad storm in St. Lucia which took out many roads and bridges so traveling on the island was difficult. I’m glad we decided to book the airport transfer instead of driving. The best thing about the longer transfer was the fact that with the roads closed we got to see parts of the island that most don’t see, an extra bonus…and it was gorgeous!

We took advantage of the tours through Windjammer Landing and they were excellent. We got a taxi for everything else. The drivers were polite, knowledgeable and made our trip the best it could be. For example, when we went to the “jump up” (Gros Islet Street Party) the driver suggested a restaurant for dinner and what streets were safest. So very helpful. The Castries market was raw and has been ranked by National Geographic as the 4th best market in the world. The rainforest was exquisite and we loved the Botanical Gardens!

Thank you once again Rochelle for helping Bob and I make many unforgettable memories. We so appreciate your friendship, expertise, and attention to detail to make our trip perfect.  -Bob and Debbie, St Lucia, January 2014
