Rochelle at Peace Frogs Travel designed a trip of a lifetime for me and my husband to South Africa. Every part of the trip was fabulous. We are both veterinarians and animal lovers and the purpose of the trip was to see the wild South African animals in their habitat. While there, we fell in love with the country and people of South Africa as well as the animals.
We stayed in Cape Town and visited the Southern Right Whales in Hermanus, seals on Seal Island, baboons on the roadways, and two colonies of African Penguins on the coast. We also went to the Cape of Good Hope, Robben Island, and totally enjoyed Victoria & Albert Harbor in Cape Town. All our guides were very happy to answer all our questions about life in South Africa. We also enjoyed spending a couple of days in the winelands where we were treated to great food and wine and learned more about South Africa.
The second week of our trip, we went to two safari camps – King’s Camp in Timbavati and Arathusa in Sabi Sands – and went on 14 safari drives with expert rangers and guides. We loved both camps and do not have a favorite because each camp and every drive offered something different. We saw abundant African mammals, birds, and insects in beautiful settings. The accommodations and food were excellent.
We went to South Africa sure we would never return again. Once we were there, we realized we were already planning on the next South African trip! -Kathi and John, South Africa, October 2011
