Summer has arrived! And on its first, and longest, day I want to remind you- as I am constantly reminding myself– that life is short. Thus, in celebration of this especially long day, I am taking my two kids to the pool until it closes and finalizing our ‘summer vacation’ plans. My husband, kids, and I will be heading off to the north shore of Jamaica, near Ocho Rios and I am already fantasizing about the fabulous beaches and island beverages. We also plan to do the jungle zip-line, a hike up Dunn’s River Falls, and hopefully some scuba diving.
Clients often ask if it’s difficult to travel with kids, and in my experience, it’s the opposite. Kids lighten the mood and don’t get so stressed over the small stuff. They love the airport hotel, baggage claim, and waiting for shuttles. Their perspective is fresh and (usually) innocent. Their eyes easily adjust to new environs, smells, and sights and they embrace them- just like I embrace the summer solstice and the longest day of the year.
